เมื่อวันที่ 11 มกราคม 2566 อัครราชทูตฝ่ายการพาณิชย์ (น.ส. สุภาวดี แย้มกมล) ได้เข้าร่วมการหารือระหว่างเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงวอชิงตัน (นายธานี แสงรัตน์) และนาง Marisa Lago ตำแหน่ง Under Secretary ด้านการค้าระหว่างประเทศของกระทรวงพาณิชย์สหรัฐฯ เพื่อหารือความร่วมมือด้านการค้าระหว่างไทยกับสหรัฐฯ ในประเด็นต่างๆ ได้แก่ การขอรับการสนับสนุนให้กับการลงทุนของไทยในสหรัฐฯ โดยเฉพาะธุรกิจที่เกี่ยวข้องกับ BCG และพลังงานสะอาด และ การผลักดันสตาร์ทอัพไทยให้เข้าถึงแหล่งเงินทุนในสหรัฐฯ
ทั้งนี้ นาง Marisa Lago ได้ชื่นชมความสำเร็จในการเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุม APEC ของไทย รวมทั้งขอบคุณที่ไทยมีส่วนร่วมสนับสนุนการขับเคลื่อนกรอบความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจอินโด-แปซิฟิก (Indo-Pacific Economic Framework: IPEF) และสนับสนุนการจัดงาน Trade Winds ที่ไทย ซึ่งถือเป็นคณะผู้แทนทางการค้าที่ใหญ่ที่สุดของรัฐบาลสหรัฐฯ พร้อมทั้งเชิญชวนบริษัทไทยเข้าร่วมงาน SelectUSA Investment Summit ซึ่งเป็นงานส่งเสริมการลงทุนในสหรัฐฯ ประจำปีที่ใหญ่ที่สุด โดยในปีนี้จะจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 1-4 พ.ค. 2566 ที่ Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center รัฐ Maryland
On January 11th, 2023, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States accompanied by Miss Supawadee Yamgamol, Minister (Commercial ) , together with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy and the Office of Commercial Affairs, met with Mrs. Marisa Lago, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade to discuss Thai-U.S. trade and investment cooperation including the discussion on Thai investment in the U.S., particularly in BCG-related and clean energy industries; and the promotion of start-ups from Thailand to gain access to U.S.’ capital.
Under Secretary Lago expressed her appreciation for the success of Thailand APEC host year, Thailand’s support on the advancement of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) and facilitation in organizing Trade Winds Mission and Business Forum, which is the largest U.S. government-led trade mission and business development forum. Under Secretary Lago also invited Thai companies to attend 2023 SelectUSA Investment Summit, the annual highest-profile event for foreign direct investment (FDI) in the U.S. and will be held on 1-4 May 2023 at Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Maryland.
